Sinar FM started broadcasting on March 1, 2004. Since then, it gained thousands of listeners and has become the most popular online radio station for millions of people. Unlike its sister radio stations, ERA FM and THR Gegar, which cater to younger listeners, Sinar FM caters to a more older audience that enjoys classic music from both local and foreign musicians. According to a poll conducted by “Nielsen RAM” in 2015, Sinar FM remained the second most popular online radio station, with almost 3.7 million listeners.
