It was founded in 1999 by Guy Kpakpo and his brother Alain Kpakpo. Radio Tokpa, initially located in Benin’s Dantokpa Market, gained popularity and relocated to Cotonou’s larger location. It’s providing a virtual meeting point for diverse individuals. Its mission is to be a radio of development at the service of the communities. Likewise, it aims to inform, educate, entertain and promote the culture and values of Benin. In 2007, Radio Tokpa was awarded the Prix RFI Scoop for investigative journalism.
